Consider this exciting and rewarding role by joining this local, volunteer-run, emergency service team by monitoring and operating the Marine Radio for sea rescue purposes. Radio Operators keep ongoing computer logs of outgoing boats and operates radio to respond to situations. Volunteer members enjoy contributing to their community through their rewarding and satisfying work, whilst obtaining a high degree of training and qualifications in the maritime industry.
Join the volunteer rescue Boat Crew and be involved in the running and operation of our rescue craft! All training will be provided by MRG and promotion through to rescue skipper is possible. Training includes radio operation, boat handling, navigation, rope handling, towage, search and rescue and a host of other maritime skills.
Do you enjoy museums, have a passion for WA history and Perth’s much-loved heritage-listed buildings? Perhaps you’re technological minded and would like to share your knowledge on our historic and modern fire appliances and firefighting equipment? The Old Central Fire Station in Perth's historic Murray Street East precinct is home to the DFES Heritage Collection. The Collection helps to tell the cultural and technological history of the fire and rescue services in our State. Our Behind-the-Scenes Team assist in the auditing of the Collection and maintenance of entries in the database.
