Are you available for 2 hours per week + training and callouts?

Duties

• Firefighting: Understanding of firefighting techniques, equipment operation and firefighting tactics to efficiently and safely combat fires. • Administration of First Aid: Basic knowledge of first aid and medical procedures to provide initial medical assistance.

• Brigades usually request no more than a 15-minute (or 1km per minute being 15kms) turnaround but prefer less if possible.
• Response: Ability to respond quickly and effectively, following established protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of individuals and property.
• Physical Fitness: Maintaining an adequate level of physical fitness to carry equipment and performing relatively physically demanding tasks.
• Teamwork: Capacity to work collaboratively with other firefighters and emergency response teams to ensure coordinated and effective firefighting and rescue operations.
• Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication to relay important information, follow instructions, and maintain effective communication with team members and emergency response personnel.
• Problem-Solving: Aptitude for quickly assessing complex situations, making critical decisions, and implementing effective solutions during emergencies.
• Stress Management: Ability to remain calm and focused during high-pressure and critical situations, and callouts ensuring effective decision-making and problem-solving under stress.
• Adaptability: Capacity to adapt to changing situations and environments, including different types of fires, terrain and weather conditions during emergency response operations.
• Community Engagement: Willingness to engage with the local community, promote fire safety awareness and participate in community events and outreach programs to educate people about fire prevention and safety measures.
