As Western Australia's leading hazard management agency, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) (Formerly The Fire and Emergency Services Authority of WA) performs a critical role coordinating emergency services for a range of natural disasters and emergency incidents threatening life and property. Volunteers have the opportunity to be involved in one or more of the following areas: Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service Volunteer Marine Rescue Service There are a number of roles within each service, both operational and non-operational.

Requirements

  • National Police Certificate *

DFES values the contribution of volunteers in making our community safer. These volunteers come from all walks of life and the diverse skills they provide help maintain and extend the State's emergency services. Roles are varied and specific requirements also vary.
