Bush Fire Brigade volunteers play a significant and vital role in helping to ensure their local communities are safe. The Catering & Welfare Officer supports brigade members during incidents, training, and community activities by helping maintain operational readiness and member wellbeing. Tasks may include:
- Ensure snack packs and bottled water are readily available for immediate deployment during callouts.
- Assist with meals and refreshments during extended incidents when external catering may be unavailable or delayed.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of welfare supplies and replenish as required.
- Oversee the cleanliness and organisation of the brigade kitchen, including fridges, freezers, benches and storage areas.
