Volunteer Community Engagement Facilitator
Lower South West Fire and Emergency Support Unit
Community Engagement Facilitator volunteers play a vital role in helping to ensure their local community is safe by promoting key messages about understanding risk, preparing for hazards and staying safe during emergencies. As a Community Engagement Facilitator, you will play an important part in collaborating with stakeholders and promoting preparedness activities to help your community stay safe. You’ll also have the opportunity to apply your communication skills in the emergency management environment. The key responsibilities of this volunteer role include:
- Promote community preparedness and resilience using DFES’ resources and key messages
- Act as a point of contact for enquiries from the community to the unit and create relationships with your local emergency services
- Represent the unit at community events and engagements
- Assist with the promotion of emergency services engagement with community groups

Requirements
- Driver's Licence (C)
- National Police Certificate *
