SES volunteers play a significant and vital role in ensuring their local communities are safe by undertaking both operational and behind the front lines roles. As an active volunteer, you will receive free training to learn the necessary skills to be competent to assist the team with some or all the following:

  • Storm Damage
  • Chainsaw Operators
  • Navigation
  • Land Search and Recovery
  • Communications/Radio Operators
  • General Rescue
  • Bush Fire Support

Volunteering is an opportunity to become an integral part of our hardworking team and offers benefits such as:

    Merredin SES welcome discussions around your time availability. Training is held the second Sunday of every month with DFES training courses every 2-3 months where required. The SES encourages to attend as many training sessions and incidents as your time allows.
