SES volunteers play a significant and vital role in ensuring the safety of their local communities. Collie SES are looking for adaptable and flexible volunteers to join our dynamic team, you will assist in the day-to-day operation of an emergency response organisation including responding to a natural disaster such as storm, earthquake or flood or assisting in search and rescue operations. Collie SES are currently seeking volunteers to assist with storm and water damage operations and flood boat operations, tasks include:

  • Respond to storm, flood, and water damage emergencies.
  • Chainsaw operations.
  • Assist emergency service groups in search and rescue operations.
  • Water search and rescue operations.
  • Land searches for missing persons.
  • Undertake 4x4 response capability.
  • Logistics support duties during emergencies including water bomber reloading and bushfire support.
  • Equipment and appliance maintenance.
  • Community education and engagement.
  • Opportunity to participate in multi-agency emergency exercises.

Requirements

  • National Police Certificate *
  • Working with Children Check *

National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check will be Provided at no cost to you.
Some specialised roles require a high level of fitness.

    Collie SES train Monday evening (public holidays excepted), and we ask members to attend at least 50% of weekly training. We ask that you make yourselves available as much as possible for operational requirements, however we understand a work life balance is required. Attend callouts when available, sometimes at short notice. Occasional weekend training & exercises throughout the year.
