As an SES volunteer you will be trained to assist the community to cope with natural disasters including storm, cyclone, earthquake and flood. Australind SES Storm Damage, Search & Rescue Team Member activities include:
- Temporary repairs to houses damaged as a result of storms, flooding, vehicle accidents, fallen trees etc.
- Aiding the community in the event of flood, earthquake, tsunami or bushfire.
- Assisting the WA Police with searches for missing persons.
- Providing support to bushfire operations.
- Participating in community education and public relations activities.
- Opportunities to provide assistance for interstate disasters.
- Flood boat operations.
- Assist in incident management control rooms including communications, logistics, operations and support roles.
- Assist with non-operational unit maintenance and creating a good environment for efficient operational response.
- Opportunities to specialise in your area of interest.

- National Police Certificate *
National Police Clearance will be provided at no cost to you.
Some specialised roles require a high level of fitness.
