Bush Fire Service (BFS) volunteers play a significant and vital role in helping to ensure their local communities are safe. As a volunteer, you will be fully trained and equipped to carry out a range of activities including:

  • Responding to bush, scrub fires and other emergencies
  • Controlled burns
  • Fire prevention
  • Supporting other emergency services when required

Requirements

  • National Police Certificate *

  • Training

    We train fortnightly, with occasional weekend courses and exercises throughout the year. Training includes safety, fire suppression methods, radio communications and use of various equipment
