To join the Bunbury VBFB you need to be available for emergency incidents, training is held fortnightly, meetings are held once per month, and each person is placed in a group to assist with maintenance and equipment checks. Each group completes this activity once per month in summer and bi-monthly in winter. All applicants are invited to an interview prior to joining the Brigade. All training is provided to each member, there is a minimum amount of training required prior to be able to attend fires/incidents. The Brigade also runs a Cadet program for 11 - 16 year olds, members are invited (not a requirement) to assist once they have a Working with Children Check completed. The Brigade holds several social activities throughout the year, which family is also welcome to participate in.
