  • Time Required

We train every Wednesday night and also hold training camps and have specialised training opportunities on some weekends. Our purpose means that requests for help from the public can come at any time of day or night. You don’t have to do everything, but you should expect to commit an average of 3-4 hours a week over a 12 month period and be available to attend callouts. Some weeks you may do two hours whereas the next week you may be out all weekend attending a specialised training course.

We supply all the training and equipment as an SES member. You can learn how to mend roofs, make up sandbags, climb ladders, use radios, set up communications towers, do first aid, move casualties, climb through rubble, navigate, search and much more.
